About the Course

The PM ‘Fun’damentals Online course is a series of short, modular learning videos that give a sharp, visual glance of focused Project Management topics. A fun exploratory experience for those looking to get a 360-degree view of Project Management.  

This online overview of Project Management topics is meant for anyone new to project management, including:  

  • Professionals who have been directly involved in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing of any kind of projects
  • Professionals who are working as project managers or key project or program team members
  • Those who want to gain a greater understanding of the project management process
  • Individuals tasked with developing and managing teams in a project environment

Over the spring of 2020, the following modules will be added to this course:

  2. Where in the Project Are We? Intro to Process Groups
  3. Herding Cats: Project Charters and Integration Management
  4. Because People Care: Stakeholders and Communications Planning
  5. Solving the Problem: Functional and Technical Requirements
  6. What Could Go Wrong? Risk Planning and Management
  7. Working Inside the Box: Managing Scope
  8. Staying Inside the Box: Change Control
  9. Two Out of Three is Bad: Cost and Schedule Management
  10. Managing the Project Team: Intro to Resource Management
  11. Don’t Build, Buy: Intro to Procurement Management
  12. Doing the Right Thing Right: All About Quality

There is no pre-requisite knowledge, skills, or experience.

Upon completing all 12 modules, participants can earn up to 1 PDU from PMI®.

Upon completing PM ‘Fun’damentals Online, participants might be interested in continuing their project management education with:

  • PM Fundamentals (In-Class) – a 3-day course providing more in-depth instruction on project processes and knowledge areas, terms, tools, and formulas as well as to extend the knowledge base into soft skills such as communication, conflict management, team development, and leadership. Agile framework and methodologies such as Scrum will also be covered during sessions.
  • PMP-CAPM Exam Prep Course (In-Class) – this 4.5-day course prepares attendees to take the PMP or CAPM certification exam.
  • PMP-CAPM Exam Prep Course (Online) – this 7-week course prepares attendees to take the PMP or CAPM certification exam.

This is a free course; however, registration is required.
